LANXESS arena, a venue which has become synonymous with the VELUX EHF FINAL4, has had its history shaped by specialty chemicals company LANXESS. The company, with its origins in Cologne, has agreed to another five years of effective collaboration, which began in 2008.
The LANXESS arena is Germany's biggest and most modern multifunctional arena which opens its gates for 150 to 200 events each year. Managing director of ARENA Management GmbH Stefan Löcher can look back on an unparalleled success story with continuing numbers of visitors – made possible largely thanks to the long-term partnership with LANXESS.
Every year, around 1.6 million people attend various sport, show and music event in the multifunctional arena, which is one of the most successful worldwide. It offers a total area of 83,700 square metres and boasts a capacity of 19,750 seats inside of the arena.
One of these events is the VELUX EHF FINAL4, which was held for the eighth year in succession at LANXESS arena in 2017. Handball fans across the world travel to Cologne to celebrate the biggest event in club handball.
Next year, handball enthusiasts can look forward to another year of spectacular on-court action, amazing shows and a great atmosphere, when the VELUX EHF Champions League’s four best clubs battle for glory on 26/27 May 2018.Author: Eva Sippel / cor
